The Industries That Use Vibratory Finishing

Even though the process of vibratory finishing isn’t super well-known by the public, there are a bunch of businesses that use it every day. While most of them won’t be too surprising, some of them might shock you. So without further ado, here’s our list of the industries that use vibratory finishing regularly.

The Automotive Industry

We’ll start with the most obvious one: the automotive industry. Vehicles are giant hunks of metal, so of course, they’re going to need a smooth finish. Even if the end-user will never see the metal, it still needs to get buffed out in order to function properly inside of the car.

The Jewelry Industry

Jewelers are another common group that uses vibratory finishers. Not only do they use it for their jewelry before displaying them in their cases, but they also offer services to customers to clean up their old jewelry. This process can make old jewelry look like new.

The Cutlery Industry

The cutlery industry also uses this process. Some people take their silverware very seriously, but it’s vital to finish all eating utensils. This is because rough forks or spoons can damage a person’s tongue, teeth, or the inside of their cheek.

The Sports Industry

There is probably more metal used in sports equipment than you realize, and all of it has to go through the finishing process in order to keep the players safe. For example, hockey players need their skates to be extremely smooth. This ensures the skates are slick for skating and also avoids potential accidents if the skates come into contact with another player.

The Fitness Industry

The fitness industry also uses this process. A lot of metal gets used in machines that you find at the gym. If those surfaces are rough around the edges, someone could get badly injured, even if they’re being cautious while moving things around.

The Medical Industry

Another industry that uses vibratory finishing regularly is the medical field. It should go without saying as to why this industry needs to focus on safety when it comes to the equipment its workers use. It keeps sick patients safe as well as doctors and nurses. The last thing you need is the medical staff cutting themselves on a rough piece of metal when they’re trying to keep a patient alive.

…And Many More

We’ve only scratched the surface of the number of industries that can use vibratory finishing, and we couldn’t possibly list them all. Whether we mentioned yours or not, we encourage you to take a look at our vibratory finishing equipment if you think your place of business would benefit from having its own finishing machine.
